The week after Christmas, we decided to venture out on our second "long" trip. We traveled to Crockett to visit with the girls great grandparents. It is hard to put into words how special Nina & Papa are to us. If you looked up the word "honorable" in the dictionary, you'd see a picture of these sweet people. They have always been such an amazing example of what marriage and life should look like...an example that James and I try to follow as we weave through our crazy adventure. They have been happily married for 66 years and are a picture of love at its finest. And besides their amazing marriage, they're just genuinely good people. Even while James and I were only dating, I was always made to feel welcome in their home. All of this is why I am so happy that my girls get to experience life with their great grandparents (I never had this opportunity).
Nina and Papa live out in the country and it is always so nice to slip away from city life for a bit. It is simply beautiful, incredibly peaceful, and Nina always completes it with her amazing country cooking (again...not helping me to lose this baby weight :-/ ). I look forward to the days when the girls are old enough to run around their yard, feed the cows, ride on the gator, and fish in their pond....oh the joys of country life :) I want our girls to be able to at least experience a little of what we did growing up, even if it's only occasionally.
On this particular trip, we just went for the day; we had lunch and visited for a little bit. It was such a beautiful sight to see Nina and Papa loving on their great granddaughters....and the fact that they love them is nothing but obvious in the pictures below.

Look at how Papa is looking at his great granddaughter...melts my heart!
Mrs. Moffett even stopped by for a peek ;)
LOVE this picture....it's obvious they are in love!
Okay mom & dad, we're all ready to go now :)
I look forward to many more visits just like this one as we watch our girls grow up!
