I thought my pregnancy went by super fast. Everyone always told me that when the girls got here, it would go by even faster.
They weren't lying.
I feel like the first month was over before I could even digest the fact that my sweet angels were even here! It was a crazy, roller coaster ride filled with sleepless nights, LOTS of learning, lots of growing, tears (from everyone), visitors, adjustments, but most importantly, lots of love. Seeing your children grow up is one of those bitter sweet things; you want them to continue to grow big & strong but you know that you'll never get that time back so you want them to slow down, just a little bit. I am always so excited to see them hit another milestone but I won't deny that it does bring tears of joy as well as sadness to my eyes when it happens. I am so thankful for these tiny little blessings and try to never take for granted what God has given me. I will hold each and every moment close to my heart always!
At one month y'all~
- Are still wearing preemie clothes and diapers although the pants are starting to get a little short in length.
- Have really started to fill out making you look even more alike!
- Love the pacifier, especially when trying to go to sleep, but have a difficult time keeping it in your mouth (or is this just your way of getting mommy to come back in the room?!).
- Seem to enjoy taking baths...if not hungry or sleepy.
- Although Dr. Ecroyd says you're not old enough, mommy KNOWS you have your nights and days mixed up.
- Have gotten a LOT better at drinking from a bottle and are taking about 2 oz. of breast milk every 3 hours.
- LOVE to take turns fussing in the middle of the night so mommy never gets a break ;)
- It doesn't happen often, but you both prefer to sleep in bed with mommy & daddy rather than in your bassinets.
- Tolerate tummy time because you are generally sleeping.
- Enjoy sitting in your bouncers. This is a huge help to mommy while I am trying to get ready for our day :)
- Make the cutest little mouse sounds EVER....well, they're cute when we're not trying to sleep ;)
- Avari~you LOVE to be swaddled. Emeri~you don't mind swaddling as long as you can have your hands out and above your head (like you are showing us your muscles ;) ).
- Are mesmerized by ceiling fans.
- Will occasionally show us those pretty smiles.
- Act very similar to how you did when inside mommy's tummy.
- Are not big fans of our photo shoots. You'd much rather be sleeping or eating but know how important this is to mommy so you tolerate it.
- Have celebrated your very first Thanksgiving.
- Are WAY more popular than mommy & daddy....people say they're calling/stopping by to check on us but we know they really just want to get their hands on you sweet girls.
- Are loved & prayed for by SO many people in this world.
- Have blessed mommy's and daddy's life beyond measure!
We love you sweet angels and are so proud of all the progress you've made!
