Yep, that's right....4 months came and went before we even realized it! Not that babies aren't fun from the beginning, but they are starting to get REALLY fun. I mean, like, they're actually tiny little human beings. Like, they are able to communicate with us. Oh sure, it's in sounds, cries, and body language, but communication nonetheless! They are able to play with us. They crave attention and express this by smiling and laughing. They show their likes and dislikes...and make this very clear I might add. They are becoming more routine oriented-this is good, this is VERY good! They show us that they love us....and I love this! There is more intentionality behind their actions. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the newborn baby stage too, but I'm really enjoying experiencing all these new, grown up things that are happening....okay, well maybe not grown up but 4 month old things :)
At 4 Months you girls:
- Are wearing 0-3 month in most outfits & onesies but are wearing 3 month pajamas for length.
- Wear a size 1 diaper during the day and a size 2 at night (since you are sleeping such long hours!).
- Eat about 6 ounces of formula at a time.
- No longer need the headrest in your car seat. You let us know this by constantly pushing your head forward, even after we would push it back :)
- Love to hold hands with one another~this just melts our hearts!
- Celebrated your very first Valentine's Day.
- Are smiling and laughing more and more each day!
- Still refuse to smile for the camera although we manage to catch a few here and there.
- Are taking about 3 inconsistent naps a day with the middle one being the longest. Don't worry, we WILL get better at this...mommy is determined!
- Are really beginning to reach out for things, especially each other :)
- Really seem to enjoy interacting with toys...which causes Target to like mommy a lot more!
- LOVE to blow bubbles with your mouth....and even like to spit sometimes (girls, this is gross!).
- Have your hands in your mouth ALL the time, even to the point of choking yourself!
- Seem to be noticing each other more and more.
- Light up when your daddy comes home from work. Mommy just loves this and I know daddy does too.
- Have the most beautiful blue eyes....still wondering if they will stay this way?!
- Can identify your bottles rather quickly and open your mouth in response.
- Love to snuggle with one another.
- Notice the dogs more...and they always seem to bring a smile to your little faces.
- Like to watch TV, although we try not to encourage this.
- Are the BIGGEST wiggle worms I've ever met in my entire life.
- Have really found your voices and are talking more often and louder (boy, we're in trouble ;)).
- Rub your little eyes when you are getting sleepy.
- Are the happiest little girls first thing in the morning. It's always hard for mommy to get up in the morning but when I walk into your room and sweet those sweet smiles, it makes it all worth it :)
- Emeri~You fight sleep something terrible!! Sweet girl, I promise mommy won't let you miss anything...just give in because later in life, you will be begging for more sleep!
- Are sleeping 10-12 hours a night, typically going down somewhere around 8:00pm and waking up somewhere around 8:00am.
- Are growing your parents in ways we never knew possible.
- Cause mommy and daddy to fall more in love with you each and every day....simply for being YOU!
