It's actually kind of a funny story. I went to my friend Meredith's house for a Mary Kay Party. I explained to her that while I would come over, I probably wouldn't buy anything.
I like make-up.
I like to feel "pretty."
But, I'm just not that into it.
So, we do our little make-overs and despite my best efforts, I like what I see! I'm debating on which products to purchase. Not wanting to spend a great deal of money, Hannah (the MK consultant) offers to give me a discount if I would simply do a phone interview with her and her director. Free products just for participating in an over the phone interview? Easy right?
Hannah told me some of the questions that I would be asked. She even told me that they would ask me if I would like to sign up to join the business but that there was no obligations to do so. I did a lot of thinking over that week and after much prayer and discussion with my husband, we decided this might actually be a good opportunity for me! With me not going back to work the following school year and not really knowing what our situation would look like, we felt like this would be a fun thing for me to get involved in while making a little money as well.
I participated in the interview and the rest is history! I was terrified but ended up signing up a few days later. And I have to admit, although I'm not as active of a consultant like some people, I really do enjoy it! There is just something about making those sales that makes you feel good about yourself...a little more confident.
