When these BEAUTIFUL flowers got delivered to school today, I was told that I have a wonderful best-friend...and that person was exactly right! James and I are so very blessed to have 2 of the most wonderful people as our "best friends." I feel like this term is generally used too lightly...what exactly does it mean to you? To me, it's knowing that no matter what is going on, they will be the first ones there when we need them the most (and even when we don't)! It means understanding that friendship (like any relationship) takes work and being willing to work through those rough patches that we all face, knowing that no matter what, we will get through this because we're in it for the long haul. It means being able to sit for long moments of silence, never feeling awkward or uncomfortable because you have nothing left to say. It means being able to be honest, even when honesty might hurt the other person but might be exactly what they need to hear. It means enjoying those special interests you share but appreciating the differences you do have and supporting those as well. It means knowing when to push and knowing when to let go....knowing when to support and when to offer advice. Being "best friends" means loving each other whole-heartedly regardless of anything else in this world! So, to Heather & Kevin (Sophie, George, & Annie): Thank you so much for my beautiful flowers and thank you even MORE for being our best friends...till the very end!
