Yes, this is a picture of my pool and exactly where I WANT to be and exactly where I SHOULD be right now! But I was told that it would be 3 WHOLE WEEKS from my surgery date before I could get back in the water. Don't get me wrong...I really don't want an infection as a result of lounging in my pool, but this is my summer vacation, my time off work, and I'm struggling BIG time! I'm sure I would have gotten many laughs on Tuesday when I tried to lay out...I kept putting my feet/legs in as far a possible and then turning around and getting my hair wet. Pitiful, yes I know, but it is just TOO hot to be outside and to not be in the pool. Did I mention that 3 weeks is a HUGE chunk of MY summer? Yes, I will be begging my doctor at my 2 week post-op appointment next Thursday to let me return to my love of the water (I already tried whining to the nurse who didn't seem to feel sorry for me AT ALL). If they don't allow me back in for 3 whole weeks, then I will miss a good portion of my vacation to the beach with my family. OHHH, and I cannot forget to mention my husband--the budget nazi has turned into the SURGERY NAZI!! Yes, he has been wonderful and has taken great care of me but he has also been very strict about ALL of the recovery rules. DO NOT take a bath...DO NOT get in that pool...etc, etc, etc.
All of that being said, I would do it a hundred times over if it means me feeling better and being able to start a family. It will ALL be worth it!

Lol! I can so see you putting your legs in and laying down to wet your hair. I still bet you are getting a tan! James just wants you to heal quickly and properly, but I can see your point =)But like you said, it is all totally worth it. I hope the doc does let you go back after your post op appt. Least you will catch up on your reading..
i say you can still lay out and read, next to the pool. I am with Holly, Get your hair wet girl!
