The Undomestic Goddess

Book #9: The Undomestic Goddess (Author: Sophie Kinsella)

Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable.  She's made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership.

Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere.  Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she's mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper.  Her employers have no idea how to work the oven.  She can't sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open.  How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope --- and finds love --- is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake.

But will her old life ever catch up with her?  And if it does...will she want it back?

My Thoughts:  As I began to read this book, I realized that I had read it before.  In fact, I paid for the same book twice (hopefully this won't happen again as we FINALLY cleaned the office).  Anyways, I considered stopping it as soon as I started...why read the same book twice when I have tons of books that I have never read?!  But, I spent money on this book and I couldn't remember entirely what happened--I was curious to know.  So, I went ahead and finished the book.  It is a fun, easy read and it is a good reminder of how important it is to "live life!"  We too often let our jobs, among other things consume our lives and we forget what is really important.  This book was definitely worth reading a second time and I highly recommend it!

Yes, I think we read it a long time ago when we read The Shopaholic Series. But, I think you should read it again since I spent good money on it! ;-) Plus, it's a good one!
