My family and I are brilliant-we decided to take a family vacation to the beach during hurricane season!! But 'ol Alex didn't get us down...we still had a BLAST! We drove down to Port Aransas on Sunday, June 27th and stayed in a really cute beach cabin until Thursday, July 1st. As soon as the whole family arrived, we headed down to the beach right away. To be honest, we were a little disappointed in the amount of seaweed we encountered...but, we didn't let it stop us from having a good time. Monday, we made a full day of the beach (the seaweed was much better) and boy are we glad we did. Little did we know, Alex (or at least the outer bands) were headed our way. We played in the water, dug in the sand, took walks, laid out (ouch-I think all of us but Jordyn paid for this), and had a picnic. Both nights we went home and cooked delicious meals (even following the diet); we had chicken enchiladas Sunday night and steaks (not me), shrimp, veggies, potatoes, & salad on Monday. YUM! Here are a few pictures to show you what great fun we had! :-)
A view of our adorable beach house living room (2 stories with 2 bedrooms downstairs, 1 bedroom and a loft upstairs).
The kitchen and dining area.
They have cute little decorations in all the nooks.
This was my favorite scene!
Part of the porch-we learned it was a bit too windy to eat outside Monday night.
The other part of the porch where we spent many nights hanging out, talking, and MAYBE a little drinking! ;-P
Me enjoying the water & the sun (not so much the sand)!
Me and my LOVE! ;-)
