Honestly, it's difficult for me to even grasp this concept...my baby girls are HALF A YEAR OLD! I mean, that's a super long time and pure craziness, right? It's not possible that they have gone from 5 pound preemies to being in the 70th percentile for their age. It's not possible that they are rolling all over the place and attempting to crawl. It's not possible that they are developing little personalities of their very own. Yet, it is all possible. My sweet little angels have been on this earth for 6 whole months. They have turned our life upside down and changed us in ways unimaginable. They have made our family one step closer to being complete. They have taught us love on a whole different level and made life so much sweeter. It's always so bitter sweet to see the days and months drift by. And soon, I'll be saying that about the years. Thank you sweet angels for filling our home with a love we never knew and for bringing such joy into our life!
At 6 months you girls:
- Are wearing size 3 & 3-6 month clothing.
- Are wearing size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 at night.
- Are eating about 6 ounces of formula at a time, 1 fruit with cereal/oatmeal in the morning, and 1 veggie in the evening (food consists of green peas, green beans, zucchini, squash, apples, pears, bananas, and sweet potato's).
- Are eating less during the day and more at night.
- Are sitting in your big girl high chairs, eating and loving ALL of the food mommy is making for you :)
- Have become pros at picking up your paci's and putting them in your own mouths~mommy and daddy are VERY excited about this one :)
- Have decided that you don't like being in your car seats as much as you used to. You are content, but for shorter lengths of time.
- Your little legs are so chunky that you get stuck in your bumbos! We go to pick you up and the bumbo comes too :)
- Can now pull your car seat toys and are enjoying watching what they do and listening to the sounds they make.
- Are now riding comfortably on our walks in your big girl jogging stroller!
- Have participated in your first play group with church friends.
- Even though you still tend to hide them from the world, you have the biggest, most beautiful smiles ever and they just melt our hearts!
- Within seconds, you can go from crying to smiling which leads us to believer there is some faking going on!!!
- Have decided that you love the exersaucer.
- Do NOT sit still for a diaper change....you would much rather be playing. Little girls, this makes things so MUCH more difficult!
- Took your first trip to the zoo and loved it...or at least enjoyed being outside ;)
- You are sucking/chewing on EVERYTHING and drooling a lot...teething much?!
- You have the most adorable little rolls on your legs and the cutest chubby cheeks ever....mommy along with everyone else just wants to squeeze y'all all the time :)
- Sleep in so many different positions now such as your stomach, back, side, face down, booty in the air, etc. etc.
- Are really starting to show your different personalities. Although it's opposite of what we thought at first, A~you tend to be a little more serious like your mom and tend to want a lot of attention & E~you tend to be more quirky/goofy like your dad and like to do your own thing.
- Now that you can get your hands on everything, you are starting to pull hair. You are so sweet at first, gently playing with mommy's hair and then all of a sudden you go in for the yank....OUCH! Y'all especially like to "play" with mommy's hair when you are sleepy.
- You are rolling ALL over the place hence why we had to baby proof the house. You have started to scoot and army crawl a little~you are able to get what you want and are already into everything. Yes, we know we're in trouble!
- Although I have no idea why, you fight sleep something terrible....girls, sleep is GOOD! In fact, you will one day realize that you will want to sleep much more than you are able to. You will miss the good 'ole days.
- Emeri~You love to squeal and will often squeal in response to our squeals....it has become something of a fun game.
- Avari~You have started making these weird, growling noises that crack you up. This is return cracks us up :)
- Avari~You seem to enjoy swinging much more than your sister does. This makes mommy a little bit sad since it was one of the things I used to keep you guys content so I could get something done.
- Although it scared y'all at first, y'all tend to like rolling up in the blankets we have on the floor for you.
- Emeri~you LOVE to blow bubbles....and even spit a little bit. This is GROSS, child and maybe a little cute at the same time :)
- Miss Avari~I'm not sure why but you have a little stranger anxiety. Mommy promises you that I would NEVER allow you to be around someone that I did not trust.
- Have a little attitude problem at times. I didn't know this was possible at 6 months but I feel like sometimes you might be cursing me out in your own little language. Boy, am I in trouble when you get older...
- Are little squeaking, laughing, smiling, talking little girls and we just LOVE it! This is what a house should sound like :)
- Got your very first colds which was absolutely heartbreaking :(
- Are the biggest squirmy worms that I've ever met hence the comment above about diaper changing.
- Are pushing up with your hands/arms while on your tummy.
- Are taking about 2 naps a day. Your morning nap is around an hour long (if mommy is lucky) and your afternoon nap is about 2-3 hours typically. You will sometimes catnap in between those if we run errands and usually during our afternoon walk.
- Celebrated your very first Easter and were able to experience the beauty of Texas bluebonnets!
- Despite mommy's best efforts, you are now sleeping in separate cribs :(
- Emeri~You love to just lay on the floor. Sometimes I think you are sleepy but sometimes you appear to just enjoy looking around.
- Are starting to look more and more alike as you grow and fill out more.
- LOVE to play with all of your toys....and even some of moms & dads (computers, remotes, cell phones, etc.).
- Seem interested in holding your own bottles and are even attempting to do so.
- Are truly the greatest loves of your mommy's and daddy's lives!
