Going to the Chapel...

And we're, gonna get married {insert fun tunes/lyrics here}.  But before we walk down the aisle, we must celebrate with a fun party and pamper the bride to be with lots of yummy food and gifts!  And I had the honor of being a bridesmaid and doing just that for one of my most special friends, Amanda (aka: my Boo).

I met Amanda during my second year of teaching when we helped open Bonnie Holland Elementary as a brand new school.  While I liked her immediately, I never could have imagined the friendship that would bloom between us over the next couple of years.  It didn't happen right away, but when she became an assistant in my PPCD class our second year at BHE, it didn't take long and we became fast friends.  This girl was my rock through some of the most difficult years of my life.  Not only was she an amazing help to me in the classroom, but she tirelessly listened to me complain about the struggles in my life and never once made me feel that I couldn't unload on her.  Oh don't get me wrong, she was very honest with me and always told me what I needed to hear rather than what I wanted to hear.  But ya know what, she was exactly the friend I needed in my life during that season and I couldn't be more grateful that God brought me such a precious, beautiful soul to lean on. She encouraged me, heartache after heartache, and never let me give up.  Most people don't know my boo like I do.  She is a lot of fun and may be known for her hard core attitude of sorts, but truly y'all, she is one of the sweetest, most inspirational people I know.  Sorry girl for blowing your cover but this post has to come with a little background info ;)

So, when she asked me to be a part of her special day, I knew I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but standing next to her as she said "I Do" to the love of her life (by the way: I called it from the very FIRST date!). With the help of several other special ladies in her life, we threw her a bridal shower at the oh so cute, La Madeleine Country French Cafe.  Y'all, I must say, this is one of the most perfect settings for a shower (or party such as this).  It is the second shower that I've thrown at this restaurant and in my opinion, it went off without a hitch (no pun intended).  It is a great atmosphere with the party being held in it's own private room.  The food is delicious and with the added touch of our own decor, it was just perfect!  I don't feel the pictures do the shower justice as the lighting in the room is slightly on the dark side (which is actually nice for the ambiance of the whole affair) but it really did turn out quite nice.  I truly hope you felt the love that was put in to your special day, Amanda!

Some of the Decor (I seem to be missing some pictures so this is only a small glimpse)
The Bride to Be...being her normal goofy self, but nonetheless, beautiful as always!
Amanda & Her Sister (Don't they look so much alike?  Totally jealous of their beautiful red hair!!!)
 Shower Game Fun

We love you Amanda and hope you enjoyed your special day!
