Electric Eleven

Eleven.Months.Old.  This is so close to twelve that it's actually quite scary.  Not scary like frightening.  Scary like I don't how my heart can handle the fact that my sweet baby girls are going to be ONE YEAR OLD. That's like big stuff. That's like, they have been on this earth for an entire year, learning and growing right before my very eyes.  But we'll save that mushy gushy post for when they actually do turn a year old. For now, we'll focus on their current age.  Ya know, 11 months (not the 20 months they actually are at the point that I'm blogging this ;) ).  

At 11 months you girls:

• Are wearing mostly 12 month clothing with some 6-12 and 9-12 thrown in there (depending on where it's from).
• Are wearing size 3 diapers during the day and size 4 at night.
• Are eating most foods now and still taking 3 bottles a day (first thing in the morning, nap time, and bedtime).
• Emeri, you are starting to show a few picky(ish) eating habits.  I hope this does not continue in the wrong direction...
• Emeri, you love to hold your bottle while eating (other food that is).
• Emeri, you LOVE to get into laundry baskets (with our without clothes in them...among other things).  Every time I turn around, you have climbed back in.  You have even gotten your sister to join in the fun!
• Emeri, you have now discovered how to crawl through the doggy door...this opens up a whole new set of problems!  So thankful for a fence around our pool.
• Avari, you too have discovered how to crawl through the doggy door.  However, you first discovered this by crawling from the outside in.  With the door open. And got stuck.
• Are members of the Birds class at the Little Gym...and are participating better and enjoying it more all the time!
• While you may not always follow the directive, you do understand the command, "sit down."
• Like to pace around the coffee table.  Especially when we have placed something in the middle, out of your reach.  It's a pretty hilarious sight to watch :)
• Emeri,  you have discovered the fireplace and it's delicious rock substance.  Yes, you ate some.  And of course still looked adorable with black soot all over your face.
• Have a tendency to crawl all over one another while we are trying to change you.  This doesn't make things difficult at all ;)
• Apparently, you girls bring quite the laughter to your church child care givers.  They just love how y'all steel each others paci's from one another.  I have to admit, you keep your momma and daddy laughing too :)
• Avari, you have pretty much mastered this crawling thing and tend to do it wherever you go!  Emeri, you aren't crawling quite as much but you are doing it more than you were.  And, you are both so fast!
• Tend to think that your food is yours and that your mamma's food is yours too.  Not fair!  This is why I wait and eat lunch once you are down for your nap ;)
• Both know your own names.  Or, you might think you each have two names.  Or, you might possibly think your name is "sister." ;)
• Know when you're doing something wrong and like to test us.
• Love to fight/wrestle with one another.  Sometimes this turns bad but it's mostly just pure entertainment for everyone involved.
• Emeri, you like to open your mouth SO wide.  Not sure what this is about but it sure is cute :)
• Tend to laugh when your sister laughs.  This, in return, has us all laughing :)
• Love the "Everybody Clap your Hands" song and will start clapping when we sing it.  Usually.
• Emeri, you stood for 5 whole seconds on September 15th and have stood for several brief moments since.  This makes your mommy and daddy SO proud :)
• Are just so happy and we're just enjoying you SO much!
• LOVE.LOVE.LOVE to play outside (especially on our porch).  This is probably one of your most favorite things to do!
• Ran your very first 10k! Okay, so maybe mommy and daddy ran it.  But you sure seemed to enjoy riding in your stroller.  And even then you attracted a lot of attention ;)
• Emeri, your third tooth has come in!
• Love other people and tend to go to them more easily now than you used to (this makes life easier but it might just hurt your mamma's heart a little).
• Love to wave hi and bye.  All the time. To everyone.
• Emeri, you are now saying "momma" when you are looking for me.  Melts.My.Heart.
• Emeri, you are having some night terrors which just makes us sad.  It's kind of hard to wake you up in these moments but we always to do our best to comfort you.
• Avari, you like to have one paci in your mouth and hold one in your hand.  Your sister doesn't like this too much because it usually means she is without!
• Avari, you said "Momma" on November 5th for the 1st time.  LOVE!
• Emeri, you can say "dog" now.  And you both sure do love your dogs!
• Can climb the stairs now and love to do so.  Who knew this could be so much fun?!
• Love to give high fives!
• Still get a kick out of bath time and love to stick your heads under the water...especially the running water.
• Have brought more joy to our lives over the past 11 months than we ever thought possible!
