And Then They Were Ten...

...months old that is!  Ten.Months.Old.  How is that even possible?  Ten months of my precious angels' lives have come and gone in the blink of an eye.  Seriously y'all...in just 2 short months, they will be ONE YEAR OLD (at least in the blogger world....humor me and let's all just go back in time so I can pretend I am one of those always caught up and on top of everything type of people).  I can honestly say that while this is the hardest thing I've ever done in my entire life, this has been the BEST ten months of my life and I wouldn't trade a second of it for anything in this world.  I mean, come on, look at all the amazing thing my girls have learned over the past month!  It truly is a gift from God to be able to be a part of the amazing process of them growing up.  Something so simple that we too often take for granted...something so beautiful that I am so thankful for.

At 10 months you girls:
  • Are wearing size 6-12, 9, 9-12, and 12 month clothing.
  • Are wearing size 3 diapers during the day and size 4 at night.
  • Are still the BEST eaters and are eating table food plus 3 bottles a day.
  • Have both officially experienced your first stomach bug....I sometimes wonder who it hurt worse, you or mommy?! ;(
  • Love taking baths so much that you practically fight us to get in the tub!  You don't seem to think removing your clothes beforehand is necessary ;)
  • Emeri - As soon as you get in the car, you love to wave to yourself in the mirror....this is pretty cute I have to admit.
  • Love to play during nap time.  Ahem, girls....one day you will be begging someone to let you take a nap (believe me, I speak from experience).
  • You guys have started using a walker to take some steps and LOVE doing it!  You are so proud of yourselves (as you should be!).  Emeri - you started doing this on August 30th while your sister started a little sooner.  Avari - you stood ALL by yourself on August 29th...we are SO proud of you (mommy may have scared you a little with her excitement...sorry about that).
  • Emeri - you have become a talkative little booger (starting on August 16th) and we love hearing your hearty attempts!  You said dada on August 24th and mama on August 31st.
  • Seem to be growing longer each night and as a result, are starting to slim up a little!!  This makes mommy a little sad as I had become quite fond of those sweet little rolls.
  • Love to "help" with the laundry...except you're not so helpful at this point!  And I'm sure when you are more helpful, you'll no longer want to help.  Funny how that works.
  • Are your mother's daughters and love Casa 'Ole...one of our favorite Mexican restaurants (I may have eaten here once or twice while pregnant ;) ).
  • Think all pacifiers are yours and will snatch them right out of another kids mouth.  We'll have to work on this one...since it's kind of rude!
  • Emeri - You have a bad habit of unrolling the toilet paper and for some odd reason, find this to be great fun.  It's not.  For mommy anyways.
  • Avari - You like to stick your head under water during bath time...even if it chokes you up a little, you always go back for more.  I'm thinking we might have a water baby on our hands!
  • Think you are SO funny when you are being naughty....okay, maybe sometimes it's a little funny.
  • Have the longest, most beautiful eyelashes...just like your daddy!
  • Had a small allergic reaction after eating some cinnamon apples.
  • Emeri - you like to give us raspberries (aka: blowing on us with your mouth while making a loud noise).  It's pretty stinkin' adorable :)
  • Avari - when I walk into your room each morning, you always drop from a standing position and crawl towards the direction I'm standing in.
  • Are "Birds" at The Little Gym and and among other things, enjoy doing head stands...or a modified version thereof :)
  • Love to play with the dogs bowls...aka: love to drive mommy crazy (those bowls are LOUD when they hit that tile floor via hand of a 10month old).
  • Enjoy the games of hide-n-seek and peek-a-boo!
  • Like to crawl on the dishwasher when I have it open and "help" me unload the dishes...again, not helpful!
  • Emeri - you have discovered the doggy door as a means to get outside!  You can't quite escape yet but you are halfway there.  Uh oh!
  • L-O-V-E other kids and are immediately attracted to them when they walk in a room (especially older ones).
  • Avari - you love to lay on your stomach and tap your foot on the floor or bed.  Ahem, I now know (typing this much too far down the rode) that this was a precursor to a little something called a tantrum.
  • Have gotten pretty good at mimicking us...using your mouths to make funny faces and such.
  • Now lay down on the floor while drinking your bottles.
  • Are now sleeping with several things including a light blanket (usually breathable), a teddy, and a lovey.
  • Are able to use your arms to help us remove you from your car seats.
  • Emei - you like to dance with your momma and find such joy in doing so (and so do I).
  • Understand what the word "no" means...although you don't always follow this direction.
  • Love to hurt your dear 'ol mom by saying dada when I try to get you to say mama.
  • Emeri - you now can climb the dog stairs and get onto our bed.  I smell trouble!
  • Like to pull every drawer/cabinet in the house open that you can find...this is such a fun game (well, for you guys anyways).
  • Like to drink out of our "adult" cups and don't seem to care what the cup contains.
  • Avari - you are attempting to hold your own spoon and feed yourself.
  • Are just so happy as evident in the pictures below :)
  • Are the greatest loves of your mommy's and daddy's lives and have truly blessed us beyond our wildest dreams!

Thank you, Debbie! I hate that I am so far behind but I'm determined to catch up again. Nothing like a new baby to get you motivated ;-P
