Newborn Portrait Session

I must say, my girls proved to be real troopers the Monday night after we brought them home!  Melanie Johnson (owner of Big Heart Photography) once again demonstrated her fabulous photography skills during a 3.5 hour photo session.  Whew... I'm not sure about my girls, but I know I was worn out by the end!  Melanie and her assistant Kristen were incredibly sweet and gentle with my angels...surprisingly, this new mom wasn't nervous at all.  Since my tiny babies were naked for many of the shots (at least down to the diaper), she brought in a small heater to keep them toasty warm; She also used a sound machine with a heart beating to help relax the girls.  It must have worked because they pretty much slept the entire time!  They did seem a little agitated when they had to lay on top of one another.  I guess they didn't care to go back to how they were when inside mommy's tummy :)  We did have to stop about half way through and feed them in order to stick to our strict, 3 hour feeding schedule.  The girls really didn't start getting fussy until the very end of the session...and even then, I'd describe it as more restless than anything (I didn't truly know fussy until now ;) ).

I truly LOVE all of the pictures and am so thankful to Melanie for capturing this sweet time in our life.  We will treasure these pictures always!

Well, I can't possibly end this post without including a few of my favorite pictures...don't worry, I will try to be selective :)

Oh my goodness....how can you not fall in love with those sweet little faces?!?!  Every time I look at them, I am reminded all over again how truly blessed we are!
